The Kinesio Taping Technique has been developed in Japan by Dr Kenzo Kase for more than 25 years.
Dr Kase has found that the K-Taping , as now known, has a healing impact on traumatised tissue and muscles.
In addition, he has found that K-Taping provides support to the muscles and joints without any range of motion restriction .
This therapy is based upon very gentle touch throughout constant massage and stretching that releases tightness and pain throughout the myofascial tissue.
This therapy is used on the located trigger points, or knots in fascial tissues, or can be used as a full body treatment.
What is Fascia? Fascia is a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessels, bones, nerve fibres and muscles in the place providing internal structure. This thin casing has nerves that makes it almost as sensitive as a skin, when stressed or tight.
This treatment is based on the Toggle Recoil method which was originally created by McTimoney ( around 1970s ) as a gentler alternative to the high velocity thrust chiropractic move. He found it to be highly effective, so used it much more regularly then the HVT.
Later Mr Corley added further details to this by using intent into the area of dysfunction and precise placement of his fingers in in conjunction with a quick vibrational move. It is not invasive, and does not directly move the bones. Instead it stimulates the body to release tension that is fixing the joint in a misaligned state.
